Fenestrelle tower and Cathedral of Saint Théodorit

Cathedral of Saint Théodorit and fenestrelle tower built in the 12th century on a Roman temple site, was the seat of the former diocese of Uzès.
The campanile, in the Lombardy style, is 42 meters high and is the bell tower of the cathedral, rebuilt in the 17th century after several periods of damage. This round tower looks like Pise Tower and is the only one in France. Visit not to be missed.

Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie

St Quentin has been famed for its pottery since the 12th century. Its ceramic paving tiles were supplied to the Pope’s Palace in Avignon. L'Abbaye troglodytique de Saint-Roman

Surplombant Beaucaire, les vestiges de la seule abbaye troglodytique d’Europe occidentale, subsistent encore au milieu des garrigues.
Saint-Roman de l’Aiguille témoigne de 1000 ans d’occupation monastique entre le Ve et le XVe siècle. Fondée par des ermites disciples de Saint Roman qui la creusèrent dans le calcaire, elle devint ensuite abbaye bénédictine, studium pontifical, enfin château fortifié puis classique occupé par plusieurs familles de la région avant son démantèlement au XIXe siècle.
Pour parfaire le tout, le site vous offre un magnifique panorama sur la Provence.

Le Fort Saint-André

Le fort Saint-André fut élevé au XIVème siècle par Jean le Bon et Charles V pour symboliser la puissance royale face aux papes d'Avignon et des terres de l'Empire. Il est constitué d'une enceinte fortifiée, et possède deux Tours Jumelles encadrant une porte monumentale, un bel exemple de fortification médiévale.
